Oh, hi there!
What’s this all about?
In high school, it was easy. You could get it in class, after school; everybody was getting it on the weekends. Once college came around, it was almost too easy. I took it for granted in college, even felt stifled by it at times. In your mid-twenties it becomes much more elusive. Oh you try. Your intentions are good and you even take the first step, but it never happens. You get lazy. You’re a working girl now and by the time you have taken care of all your new responsibilities you just don’t have the energy for it anymore.
It wasn’t until I moved hours away from friends and family that I realized how important it really is. I’m not ashamed to say that it’s one of the things I do most passionately. There is something very therapeutic about putting on your best outfit (or your worst: a beautiful part of a coffee date is that it really doesn’t matter) and meeting a gal pal for a chat. Now that all of my friends are in the working world, scattered across the east coast and on completely different schedules than I am, I’m bringing the coffee date to the comfort of your couch.
